I have never got into 'True Blood' but i have heard good things. I can't figure out whether i like Anna Paquin or not. On the plus side, i do like her hair, she is naturally brunette yet is rockin' the blonde. Especially in her latest shoot for Nylon. Pretty.

It might just be that i can't get past my vision of 'Rogue' from x-men.

I am back from my travels! So will blog more, but am goin away again on Saturday! Sorry to neglect you!

I will post a few photographs from Europe soon, but i havn't had chance to sort through them all yet!

Anyway, on a split decision i decided to see if there were any gigs coming up as i very much miss going to them! My friend's boyfriend is in a band called Young Guns, and they had a gig on Saturday. We all decided to go, and it turned out to be awesome! There were four bands altogether, but i only liked two, that would be Young Guns, and Dog is Dead. Definately definately check them out on Myspace, it is well worth it!

Those of you familiar with the MTV Movie awards will know that there is an award for best kiss. It is also a well know fact and tradition that the said couple that win, and this is the best bit, have to re-create that kiss in a similar way when receiving their award. Trust me, it's awesome! The winners for 2007 were Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams for the Notebook, i wont spoil it, but this one was my favourite. The winners for 2008 were Robert Hoffman and Briana Evigan for Step Up 2 The Streets, a very good kiss. Now, as we all know, Twilight was released last year, and so it came as no surprise when Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won best kiss. However, when i watched the footage from the live show, i was SHOCKED! Again, i wont spoil it, but you have to check it out. It's downright scandalous.

They say you wont fool them. Suprisingly enough, this wasn't my idea, my sister actually requested i take some photographs of them for their 'school project'.

It consisted of two different outfits, and i will point out that they are in all my clothes, (pretty much).

I am actually in love with the new cobra starship song, good girls go bad. Just as i was in love with their much older one, snakes on a plane (bring it). However, this one has a rather larger appeal as, wait for it, Miss Leighton Meester is singing on it! And her voice is amazing! I had heard her singing a couple of weeks ago - a cover of Bette Davis Eyes (which is also definately worth a check out) and they both give us a taste of what to expect when her new record comes out.
On the other side of the Gossip Girl world, little Taylor Momsen is also in a band, called Pretty Reckless. Her sound has a lot more punky grungy home-made band feel to it, but i freaking love it also!

I hate peaches and cream. I am also not overly fond of Peaches Geldof, yet they force me to read her monthly column in every damn issue of nylon. (heart). I need inspiration for some blogging. I have been pretty bored for a while and have nothing interesting to write about! Sure, the latest ANTM is extremely awesome at the mo, but i have now caught up, so have to watch it weekly. The same with Gossip Girl, no matter how shock-horror it has become lately, i still feel uninspired. My new NYLON mag did cheer me up for a while, especially as Miss Lohan is the cover girl of the month (the interview is awesome!), and also looking as skinny as ever, bad times. And i did find out another meaning of the title NYLON, it's like if you combine New York, and London. NY LONdon.
But still, HELP!

rockin' robin - part one

In late 2008 i went on a trip to London and visited the Hayward gallery. Andy Warhol had an exhibition there, it was pretty fantastic to say the least, especially his polaroids. However there was also an upstairs exhibition that caught my eye and made my brain wonder. At this point in time there was a photography project due, so me and my friend decided to collaborate and produce some pieces of our own in a similar style.

Robin Rhode takes photographs consisting of drawings and people at staggered times. Well that didn't really exaplin it very well. Basically, he draws, paints, and collages images onto walls and pavements, photographs it, then changes it, the end result being that when the sequence is complete it plays out a short scene. I will provide a couple of examples.

As we all know, i (and my friends) love photography, so we decided to plan a little trip into the countryside and experiment with nic's camera. I tell you now, it was hard to keep a straight face when walkers - and their dogs, kept walkin-on-by. The end result being some amazingly good quality photographs, with a bit of the converse ad style thrown in there.

We may still be on America's Next Top Model 11 over here, but in the states they have already begun cycle 12. I took the time out of my currently very busy life (ugh) to catch up on the first few, having already finished cycle 11 on the internet.

There is always a couple of girls that you like from the very beginning and spend most of the time wishing they do well and make it into the next week. Well tradition is tradition, and i have already spotted two that i want to win! (although they never do).

We have London, however if i went on my first impressions of her i would have to say she has a bad attitude, but you learn to love her, and i think she is stunningly b-e-a-utiful.

I will give you a little taste of her current portfolio.

And then we have Fo. the first impression of her would be that perhaps she is a plain jane. However after numerous amounts of tears from makeover day ('i look butch' etc etc) i really took a liking to her.

Last month's nylon mag (March) was a very good one indeed. Not only did Kristen Stewart grace the front cover, she also did a very in-depth interview, proving to the public that she is a down to earth, rooted girl. She commented on her fame, future movie, and relationships, all of which interested me greatly, making me love her and hate her, that little bit more.

Alongside the interviews and latest happenings, there was of course the photoshoots, one of which caught my eye and really inspired me. Photographer Glynis Selina Arban captured the fashion by taking style cues from masters of the art world.

First up we have Klimt.

The symbolist painter used deep, golden hues to accentuate the female form.

Then there's Lichtenstein.

Thick outlines, vivid colours, and benday dots are exactly what made this proto-pop artist's illustrations come to life.

Moving swiftly to Pollock.

Dripping, splashing and splattering on a canvas made this abstract artist's style one-of-a-kind.
And finally we have Magritte.

His witty works of art and intriguing images give true meaning to the surreal life.

That's right, forget Sherlock Holmes, it's all about Watson. Well, strictly speaking, it's all about Miss Emma Watson. The 18 going on 19 Harry Potter actress is said to be the new face of Chanel, and to be honest, you can see why. Recently finishing her A-Levels and getting four A's she could do pretty much anything that she wanted, and i've heard rumours about Oxford University to do History of Art. Personally, i think she is stunning, and the people that don't like her, are all jealous, you only have to look at these recent photoshoots. She has been spotted at all of the catwalks, and has made some top class celebrity friends too. Never mind that, I want to be her friend!

So on March 7th (the Saturday just gone) me and my friend - nycjuicebox, attended London Fashion Weekend in the grounds of the Natural History Museum. After spending hours hiking around London in our heels we eventually had to change to flats (bad times). The shopping there was, well it was okay, you know, if your rich, however the highlight of my day has to be the catwalk. It was amazing. Louise Roe from Vogue TV hosted it, looking gorgeous i might add, and some of the clothes were to die for.

The idea for this shoot was to re-create the colours and texture of candyfloss in the make-up, hair, clothes and surroundings to give an overall soft, sugary look to the photographs. It is almost like when an owner looks like their dog, but in this case (obviously) the model looks like the sweets.

So, those of you familiar with the oh so trendy show 'Gossip Girl' will know that little Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) stars as Lonely Boy's (Dan Humphrey - Penn Badgley) 15 year old fashionista sista!

However she doesn't keep her trendy up-to-date fashion sense only on the show, thats right, this girl is fashionable! And recently attended the infamous New York Fashion Week, no wonder she is causing such a hype.

Continuing with my running theme of fashion photography, here are a few sample photographs from a fairly recent shoot.

The idea here was a journey through music, potraying each genre of music with different styling and location. These ones are from the music genre 'Pop', and is the simplest set i have. I will eventually load all of them up however it may take a while considering that there are 8/9 sets in total.

Would like to thank my friend for modelling for me... again.

So London Fashion Weekend is a week on Saturday, and i have nothing to wear. at all.

The fact that everything is so expensive also doesn't help!

I have a rough idea, well two rough ideas, of what to wear on my legs, the first option would be the new denim-look leggings from Topshop.

The second option would perhaps be some sort of socks-and-skirt combo.

As you can see, i need help!

My first fashion photography photoshoot took place in summer 2008.
Not that the weather is anything to go by.
Two of my best friends agreed to model for me and the shoot turned out to be a great success, i got the idea orginally from the prospect of taking something, or someone, and surrounding it by a totally alien atmosphere, hence the farmyard setting.

The clothes contrast with the general muckyness of the location.
