frame of reference

Last month's nylon mag (March) was a very good one indeed. Not only did Kristen Stewart grace the front cover, she also did a very in-depth interview, proving to the public that she is a down to earth, rooted girl. She commented on her fame, future movie, and relationships, all of which interested me greatly, making me love her and hate her, that little bit more.
Alongside the interviews and latest happenings, there was of course the photoshoots, one of which caught my eye and really inspired me. Photographer Glynis Selina Arban captured the fashion by taking style cues from masters of the art world.
First up we have Klimt.
The symbolist painter used deep, golden hues to accentuate the female form.
Then there's Lichtenstein.
Thick outlines, vivid colours, and benday dots are exactly what made this proto-pop artist's illustrations come to life.
Moving swiftly to Pollock.
Dripping, splashing and splattering on a canvas made this abstract artist's style one-of-a-kind.
And finally we have Magritte.

His witty works of art and intriguing images give true meaning to the surreal life.
I hope you enjoyed that as much as i did

geek ahem chic

As we always say, the slightest bit of sunshine makes you act crazy. After getting in the total geek mood the week before, i decided to get dressed up again and have my sister take some slightly crap photos. So here is me, doing my own little attempt at geek chic, awww. Lol is the word that springs to mind. Lol...

And because i am rather a goof, i thought it would be a good idea to put my personal favourite photo up, as i can't take the seriousness! Tada!

with love

Oh Hilary. I remember when you graced out screens as Lizzie McGuire, and my you have grown up! Apart from being actually beautiful (girl crush) i have really grown to like her new (ish) songs. My favourite's being 'With Love' - for obvious reasons that become apparent when watching the video, 'Stranger' and 'Reach Out'. Check them out coz she is awesome! Here are a couple of more recent photos of her.

forget sherlock

That's right, forget Sherlock Holmes, it's all about Watson. Well, strictly speaking, it's all about Miss Emma Watson. The 18 going on 19 Harry Potter actress is said to be the new face of Chanel, and to be honest, you can see why. Recently finishing her A-Levels and getting four A's she could do pretty much anything that she wanted, and i've heard rumours about Oxford University to do History of Art. Personally, i think she is stunning, and the people that don't like her, are all jealous, you only have to look at these recent photoshoots. She has been spotted at all of the catwalks, and has made some top class celebrity friends too. Never mind that, I want to be her friend!

truly taylor

I want to be this girl. After watching Gossip Girl for the past few hours or so (i lose track) it reminded me of how much i love Taylor Momsen (little J). So im surfing the net, and what do i come accross but these beautiful amazing most gorgeous shots of her. She is seriously making me consider dying my hair and chopping it all off. Here's two things that i bet you didn't know about her, she is 15, and she was the little girl in the Grinch. Tada!

the power of pink

Looking through my old photos I found some that I remembered I loved. Hurrah. So can you picture it? April 2008, so about a year ago, photography lover, wardrobe of colourful clothes, some extremely tolerant friends, and the tiniest glimpse of sunshine. Yep, you guessed it, the creation of my 'Colourful Clothes day' folder. Shall we?...
This makes me pine after the good old days, when time is all we had.

la la land

So on March 7th (the Saturday just gone) me and my friend - nycjuicebox, attended London Fashion Weekend in the grounds of the Natural History Museum. After spending hours hiking around London in our heels we eventually had to change to flats (bad times). The shopping there was, well it was okay, you know, if your rich, however the highlight of my day has to be the catwalk. It was amazing. Louise Roe from Vogue TV hosted it, looking gorgeous i might add, and some of the clothes were to die for.
Here's a little taster of the ones i think are the best...
Terry de Havilland shoes!

She looks like Elina from cycle 11 ANTM

who's that child?

I was in desperate need of a model for my latest creation (hmm...) and the only one i could find at short notice happened to be my sister. The consequence: who is that small child?

sugar rush

The idea for this shoot was to re-create the colours and texture of candyfloss in the make-up, hair, clothes and surroundings to give an overall soft, sugary look to the photographs. It is almost like when an owner looks like their dog, but in this case (obviously) the model looks like the sweets.

It's a good job i have beautiful friends
